This article analyzes the views of Abdurauf Fitrat on family and family relations. The study highlights the thinker's ideas about the role of family in social development, child upbringing, marital relations, the position of women in the family, and spiritual and moral values. The relevance of Fitrat’s ideas presented in his work “Family” for contemporary society is also scientifically discussed.

The importance of the relationship between father and mother in the formation of the family image is highlighted.

This article contains comments on the moral treatises of “Sheikh al-rais” – Abu Ali ibn Sina, who lived and worked in Transoxiana. Also is analyzed the importance of wisdom in the spiritual maturity of a person, which is presented in such treatises of the thinker as “Tadbiru-l-manzil”, “Risola fi-l-akhlok”.
